Outside creative
director for
motorcycle brands

Collection, brand and event, coming out of the same story.

Twenty years in advertising creative direction. Twelve building Fuel Motorcycles — product, brand and campaigns. Fifteen running Scram Africa, a desert ride that became a brand in itself. Work for Royal Enfield, MV Agusta and Scalpers.

Three ways to work together

Most brands start at the top and move down. Everything is scoped and quoted after a first call.

Brand & Collection Audit

Ten working days

A read on where the brand actually stands: what the product says, what the communication says, and the gap between them. It ends with three moves you can start on, not a list of observations.

  • Positioning as stated versus as received
  • Competitive map and the territory left open
  • Coherence check across product, range and touchpoints
  • Three prioritised recommendations, each with a first step
  • One idea for how the brand shows up in the real world

Concept Direction

Four to six weeks · the main thing I do

One territory, taken all the way down to something your team can build. A collection, an event, or both — because the strongest ones come from the same idea. You get a brief that doesn't need interpreting.

If you don't have a design team to hand it to, I can take it further and design the collection itself — the same way I did for Scalpers and Royal Enfield. Quoted separately, once we know the scope.

  • Narrative territory and reference archive
  • Range architecture: which pieces, and what each one is for
  • Product and line naming
  • Event or experience format, built to be actually run
  • Campaign angle, tone and executable brief

Creative Direction

Six to twelve months

For brands with no creative director and no intention of hiring one full time. I hold the direction season after season, so the brand stops resetting every time a new collection starts.

  • Season direction, collection after collection
  • Campaign and photography review before it ships
  • Event calendar and partnerships
  • Standing line to your product and marketing leads

How it starts

No pitch deck, no procurement process.

A call

Thirty minutes. You tell me what collection is coming and where it's stuck. I tell you straight whether I'm useful.

A scope

Two pages within 48 hours: what I do, when it lands, what it costs. Half up front.

The work

I work directly with the founder or the product lead. No account layer in between.

What's the next collection about?

If the answer takes more than a sentence, that's usually the problem worth fixing. Drop me a line and we'll talk it through.
